Lewis explains how the lymphatic system works and the role lymph nodes play in the body’s immune system. He describes why normally you cannot see or feel the lymph nodes, but if you have an infection the lymph nodes near the site of infection will become swollen, for example when you have a sore throat you can often feel the lymph nodes in your neck, and it is these lymph nodes that become infected by lymphoma.
Lewis explains that there are two main types of lymphoma: Hodgkins lymphoma and non-Hodgkins lymphoma, and details the prevalence of each type.
