Celebrities Stand Up to Cancer

September 9 saw the annual red carpet event Stand Up to Cancer in Los Angeles, Calif.  The televised fundraiser played host to many famous Hollywood faces, some of whom had battled cancer themselves, watched a loved one go through cancer, or had lost someone dear to the disease.

Among the celebrities present were Tom Hanks, whose wife Rita Wilson beat breast cancer; Kathy Bates, who won battles against ovarian cancer and breast cancer; Shannon Doherty, who is currently undergoing aggressive treatment for breast cancer; and Bradley Cooper, whose father died of lung cancer in 2011.
