Gene Wilder, You Will Be Missed!

Beloved and wildly admired American screen and stage comic actor, screenwriter, director, author, and activist Gene Wilder lost his battle with Alzheimer’s disease yesterday at age 83. He was born Jerome Silberman on June 11, 1933.

Back in 1989 Wilder was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma but in March 2005, following chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, the cancer went into complete remission.
