Running back James Conner has announced another step in his recovery from lymphoma. The 20-year-old football player has entered remission, as he recently tweeted that his body is clear from cancer. He has made a habit of keeping his fans updated on his struggle with lymphoma through his Twitter account. On May, 23, he wrote: “God is AMAZING. Just got the call that my body is clean of cancer!!! Been a long road but God had my back. Thanks everyone who said prayers!”
James Conner has been treated for a stage II Hodgkin lymphoma since last November.
While he started the season as an opener for the Pittsburgh Panthers, a knee injury pulled him away from the game and further examinations led to the diagnosis. By the beginning of May, James Conner had shared in a tweet that he had completed his series of chemotherapy sessions, just five months after being diagnosed with the disease and that he was waiting for the results.
“Glory to God allowing me to get through these 12 scheduled chemo treatments,” wrote James Conner on his Twitter page on May, 10. “Been a long road. Results coming soon!” The football player who has been cherished by fans and teammates is now hoping to return to the football field next fall.
