Gexa Energy to Sponsor Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2017 ‘Light The Night’ Walk in Houston

Texas electricity utility Gexa Energy will sponsor this year’s Houston Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Light The Night Walk. The 2017 fundraising event is set to take place Oct. 28 at Minute Maid Park.

LLS, is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Its yearly Light The Night Walk event attracts thousands of partners, sponsors and corporate teams across the United States to help raise funds for potentially lifesaving research initiatives and support programs for people fighting blood cancer. This fall, these teams and their communities gather to celebrate, honor and remember those touched by cancer.

Gexa President Brian Landrum, who is chairing the event, will seek funding from other large companies to help finance LLS’s mission of creating a world free of blood cancer.

“It is an honor to be a part of this year’s Light The Night Walk and to partner with this amazing organization that makes such a meaningful impact on the lives of others,” Landrum said in a recent news release. “Leukemia and lymphoma have personally touched the lives of several Gexa Energy employees, and we are proud that we can help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society continue its fight against these deadly diseases.”

Gexa recently announced that for every residential customer who enrolls on the EveryDay | EveryNight® Low Price Plan 12, the company will donate $25 directly to LLS. For enrollments on the EveryDay | EveryNight® Low Price Plan 24 using promo code HOPE, the company will donate $50 to LLS.

For more information about these new plans, visit the LLS website or call (855) 639-8573 and mention promo code HOPE.

LLS was founded in 1949 and is headquartered in Rye Brook, New York. Its Light The Night Walk will also take place on other dates in a long list of U.S. cities including New York, San Diego and Washington, D.C. More information about the event and the full schedule can be found here.
