Despite lining up in the early hours to get tickets to see his favorite band, Ken Santiago was unable to attend the concert.

Sadly, the senior medical student from Manilla, Philippines, was unable to go to the Coldplay concert at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Instead, he was in the hospital fighting the stage 4 cancer he was diagnosed with in February, according to a report on aplus.com.
Friends of Santiago reached out to the band’s PR people who arranged a big surprise before the concert. If Santiago couldn’t go to Coldplay, then Coldplay would come to him. Frontman Chris Martin paid him a personal visit at the hospital, and although Santiago was too ill to talk, the two were able to communicate using a whiteboard. It’s fair to say that the young man was extremely pleased his idol had taken time out to come and see him.
