Mr. T on Lymphoma
Laurence Tureaud, better known as Mr. T., knows a few things about cancer. The television and movie celebrity fought and won a battle with T-cell lymphoma, CD3 for many years. In this lymphoma quote, Mr. T — the cancer survivor — shares how the fight made him a true tough guy.
Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes or lymph nodes.
In a 2006 People Magazine interview, Mr. T said: “I thought I was tough, but going through cancer, that was tough. Cancer patients are really tough – they don’t quit. That’s why I wear it like a badge of honor. I’m proud to be a cancer survivor.”
