overcoming adversity

Even the most amazing things must come to an end. After enjoying this past year and a half of sharing my experience with lymphoma on this platform, I have decided that it’s best for me to take a break from writing while I pursue a few projects that need my full attention.

At the start of my experience, I created videos about living with cancer as a young adult. As my life transitioned from “patient” to “survivor,” I found it was hard for me to grasp inspiration from my daily life for video creation — I didn’t have anything to document.

My mission now is to revolutionize the way cancer is experienced by all those who are touched by the disease — patients, caregivers, and even healthcare staff.

You’re hearing it here first … I’ve got three exciting projects I’m in the process of brewing. It is my dream to write a book, to start a nonprofit organization, and to have a podcast. Considering how overwhelming life after cancer can be, it has been very hard for me to balance these projects along with writing a weekly column, so for me to offer you the best content, I must make this hard decision.

How do we console patients while acknowledging that being a caregiver is tough, heck, maybe even just as tough, as having cancer? How do we teach healthcare teams to be empathetic and look beyond the numbers and statistics? How can I encompass all of these goals using my platform?

I am sad, but so incredibly excited, to begin my new projects to connect our community in ways that we never knew we needed.

Leaving Lymphoma News Today was not the easiest decision for me. I’ve so enjoyed the community and connecting with many of my readers, and even meeting some of you!

I hope that you’ll continue to follow my journey on my other platforms so that you can stay up to date with my new projects. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow my Instagram for all updates regarding the very exciting (and nerve-racking) initiatives that I am launching into the universe. This is officially the first time I am sharing what I hope to create. I hope that my dreams manifest into beautiful creations that will help each and every one of you.

All my love and light, forever and always,
Racheli
