In this video, Sunshine Golla shares her journey with lymphoma. Sunshine first began experiencing symptoms in April 2014 when she developed sudden chest pains, but the pains passed after a week. A few months later she suffered from severe facial swelling so went to see her doctor. She had a CT scan and x-ray but the results came back inconclusive.

Over the next two years, Sunshine continued to get intermittent symptoms. Doctors couldn’t determine the cause until a lymph node biopsy finally found the answer: it was stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Sunshine’s message is this: if you’re experiencing strange symptoms and feel that something isn’t quite right with your body, go and get it checked out. Don’t take “I don’t know” for an answer. Insist on further testing until you know exactly what’s going on. Waiting so long for a definitive diagnosis meant that Sunshine’s lymphoma was at a critical stage and she needed extensive treatment.

Sunshine is still undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. We wish her all the best for her recovery.
